Our Review:

It’s not often that you come across a completely free adult dating site, but that’s exactly what you get from SaucyDates.com. Visually, it’s not the most prepossessing site to look at, being a little jumbled and heavy with pop-ups and ads. Compared with subscription sites it’s also quite basic in terms of features, but you can’t really complain. If you do, there’s plenty of other sites that will give you more…for a price.

Perhaps due to the fact that it’s free, the majority of members are younger rather than older and come mainly from the USA. At the time of this review there were approximately 5,000 or so members registered, and 800 online. Not the biggest site but some signs of life nevertheless. Profiles feature basic information related to a member’s gender, location, sexuality and physical appearance. There’s also a section detailing sexual interests in terms of the kind of things you’re into and what you’re looking for. You’ll see a lot of profiles without pictures, which is unsurprising for an adult dating site that requires no financial commitment. That said, you’ll also see plenty of profiles with photos, even multiple photos, so all is not lost.

There’s one (very) basic search tool that allows you to specify just two criteria; the gender you’re looking for (male/female/transgender) and sexuality (straight/gay/lesbian/bi). That’s it! The means of contacting other members is limited to email only. There isn’t a whole lot more to the site. However, if you’re strapped for cash, bear in mind that you can join, create a profile and upload photos, send and receive emails, use the site search and manage your profile all for free, with no restrictions. You could go from registering to sending and receiving emails in 10 minutes. The only minor irritation is having to put up with the ads. Managing your account is simple and you can receive new message alerts by email, as well as the ‘Saucy Report’, a list of compatible members and general updates about the site..

Does it work? Well, it’s a great idea to offer completely free membership but the lack of serious members puts a serious dent in any hopes you may have of hooking up. For this reason, I have to say you’re likely to get very little back in return for any time invested. However, you may just get lucky too. Having a great profile may help. In many ways, SaucyDates.com is a breath of fresh air, offering free adult dating without any catches. It could be great if the membership base can grow, and I’m sure that most members could live with the basic features if there were no subscriptions fees. You’ve nothing to lose by signing up, and you might even contribute to the creation of something big, successful and free!
